Background Checks

Background checks are provided by the Harrison County Sheriff's Department for individuals needing to present a background check to an employer or to organization. A background check may also be needed by adults volunteering to be an adult chaperone on public school fieldtrips.

The Harrison County Sheriff's Department is able to perform background checks between 8:00am and 4:00pm Monday - Friday. For additional information on background checks please select option 3 on the Harrison County Sheriff's Dept. phone menu.

Background Checks may be obtained by presenting the following information:

• Valid U.S. Driver's License
• Any Government issued Identification Card

The Harrison County Sheriff's Department is unable to perform background checks on third parties. The Sheriff's Department can only provide background checks directly to the individual requesting the information on themselves.

Please note: Harrison County Sheriff's Department Background checks will only determine if an individual has ever been convicted of a crime in Harrison County Indiana
