Harrison County Jail Information
Due to our inmate population increasing and the need to keep security a top priority, additional bunks were added in 2020. The facility was able to add 10 additional bunks to each of our 5 general population cells in each dorm area. Based on the addition of the new beds, our rated capacity increased from 175 to 213.
The facility now has 198 general population beds (some of which can be used for special housing such as administrative/disciplinary segregation or Protective Custody), 14 fixed beds in intake holding, 1 padded cell, 1 medical isolation cell, and 1 large intake holding cell for intoxicated or overflow inmates. Of the 213 bed capacity, 38 of these beds may be used by the female population.
