Harrison County Jail Work Release Program

The Harrison County Jail also offers Work Release Programs to inmates under specific circumstances. Work release can be granted by the Sheriff although most of our inmates in work release program have received a court order allowing them the opportunity. Once the Harrison County Superior Court Judge allows an inmate work release then it is up to the Sheriff and Jail Commander to grant this inmate permission to participate in the program.

In the Harrison County Indiana work release program the inmate is required to return to lawful detention after work. While in the program each inmate must pay the Harrison County Indiana Sheriff’s Department $10.00 a day to be involved in the work release program. While in the work release program the inmate must submit to any alcohol or drug screen as seen fit by the administration.

If an inmate breaks any laws while in the work release program the privilege will be revoked and the inmate will be returned to his/her cell.
