Q: How do you place money on commissary accounts?
A: Inmate commissary deposits can be made 24 hours a day 7 days a week through www.jailfunds.com, or by calling phone# 1-855-836-3364. You will need a credit or debit card and the inmates name. Inmate phone time can be purchased through www.securustech.net.
Q: What can I bring in for an inmate?
A: All items needed for an inmate's stay will be provided or can be purchased from the commissary. Nothing will be permitted to be brought from outside the facility, unless approved by the Sheriff or the Jail Commander.
Q: Do you accept personal checks or cash for Bonds?
A: No, The Clerk's Office accepts cash or credit cards for bonds between the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm. After hours, the jail accepts cashier's check or money orders for bonds.

Q: What do I need to do to visit an inmate?
A: Each visitor must have a valid photo ID and be at least 18 years of age. Anyone under the age of eighteen shall be accompanied by a legal guardian. All visitors must be dressed appropriately - no revealing attire can be worn during inmate visitations. No former inmates will be allowed to visit unless they have been out of jail for at least one year or until approved by the Sheriff or Jail Commander.
Q: How long will I be able to visit?
A:Video visits for all inmates are 20 minutes only, with the exception of trustees whose visits are 1 hour. Contact visits are 30 minutes.
Q: Must my child have an I.D.?
A: Yes, we will accept social security cards or birth certificates for children.
Q: Can an inmate call me from the jail?
A: Yes. Inmates have access to a phone from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. each day. Phone time may be purchased by the inmate thru commissary or a may be purchased by family or friends at www.securustech.net
Q: Do you accept incoming calls for the inmates?
A: No
Q: Do you accept mail for the inmates?
A: Yes, it must be sent through the U.S. Postal Service. All incoming mail should be addressed to the inmate and mailed C/O Harrison County Jail, 1445 Gardner Lane, Corydon, IN 47112. You must include your return address. Refer to Corrections/ General Services for more in depth details.
Q: Can I bring in a letter for you to give to my friend in jail?
A: No. All incoming mail must go through the U.S. Postal Service.
Q: Can I send a package to my friend in jail?
A: No. We only accept letters or greeting cards through the mail.
Q: Can inmates write to people while they are in jail?
A: Yes. It must be sent through the U.S. Postal Service.
Q: Can inmates with no money purchase items through commissary?
A: Yes. Inmates can purchase hygiene items and writing materials through our indigent program.
Q: Are religious services and counseling available in the jail?
A:Yes. Church service, religious counseling and minister visits are available in the Harrison County Jail.
Q: Do you release warrant information over the phone?
A:You can obtain information about whether or not an individual has a warrant by checking the court dockets. A person suspecting they may have a warrant may also check, in person, at the Jail. They will need to bring with them a state issued I.D. or driver’s license to check on a warrant.
Q: Can inmates continue their employment while they are in jail?
A:This is up to the judge and must be handled by the inmate’s attorney or public defender through the Probation Department.
